5 Things You Should Have in Your Guest Bedroom

Updated: Sep 3, 2022

I love some good, old southern hospitality and I've experienced some of the best hospitality in my travels. Here are five things you should have in your guest room to ensure your guest feels at home.

Extra Pillows - Sleeping on a flat, uncomfortable pillow is a literal pain in the neck. Here's a tip, gather together any unused pillows throughout your home and use these in the guest room. Our room has a collection of down, foam, and cotton pillows that have been replaced throughout the years. This will give your guests the option for a better night's sleep.

Extra Blankets - Because everyone has different temperature likings it's always good to have extra blankets on hand in case your guest is cold in the night. This way they can use as many, or as little as needed. Also, if you don't have a ceiling fan in the room, be sure to have a portable one on hand.

Set of Towels - A great way to be hospitable to your guests is to leave a set of towels out for their stay. This should include a washcloth, hand towel, and bath towel. If your guests are staying a while be sure to refresh their towels every other day.

Reading Materials - I like to put old magazines and favorite books in the guest room. It's a nice form of entertainment for your guest.

Phone Charger - Save your guests from trying to find an outlet and provide a charger on the nightstand. It's the small things that will really set a good hospitable tone. Check out this wireless charger from Amazon.

These are just five of many things you can add to your guest bedroom to ensure they have a great stay. Some other things are;

  • Travel Sized Toiletries

  • Snacks

  • Bottle of Water

  • Welcome Note

  • TV with Remote

  • Fresh Flowers

  • Box of Tissues

Showing a little hospitality to your guests will allow them to feel at home and comfortable.
